The first two ET22 units left the Pafawag factory in Wrocław in 1969, marking the beginning of a fruitful twenty-year production run of this powerful electric locomotive.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eDespite their enormous size, the 120-ton ET22 units can reach speeds of up to 125 km\/h. The ET22 locomotive was primarily designed for freight transport, but it was also assigned to passenger services.
