In Germany, the model was nicknamed \"Strich Acht\" – referring to its introduction year, while in Poland, Mercedes fans call it \"przejściówka\" or \"puchacz.\" The W114 belonging to Greek taxi driver Gregorios Sachinidis, with a mileage of 4.6 million kilometers, is recognized by the manufacturer as the car with the highest mileage ever recorded for any Mercedes-Benz vehicle.
