This Polish motorcycle, produced between 1968 and 1970, featured a W-2 engine with a displacement of 174 cm³. This allowed it to achieve 4.5 HP more power than the WFM S32 engine, which was used in the aforementioned SHL M11 motorcycle.

However, it wasn't just the power that attracted buyers to this motorcycle. The M17's concept defied the classic appearance of post-war two-wheelers, such as WSK, WFM, and also SHL. A coherent body, perfect harmony of motorcycle elements, interesting paintwork, and of course, the gazelle on the fuel tank – all contributed to the SHL M17 Gazela having many devoted fans.

But nothing lasts forever. The high price of the Gazela, around 17,000 zlotys, was its main drawback. This, combined with a lack of demand, led to the halt of production. Within two years, 50,000 units left the factory, of which about 15,000 were designated for export.

To this day, many fans of this iconic two-wheeler can be found. A mug with the SHL M17 Gazela motorcycle is an ideal gift for a fan of PRL motorcycles, and especially for a lover of the Gazela!

The author of the drawing is the Wrocław-based artist Paweł Grabowski.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0988/0770/9992/files/SHLGAZ-MUG-01-BI_b0863a27-757f-48be-a376-11324cf053c8.png?v=1777992216
