The second number in the name, in the case of our 250 model, indicates the engine size, which is 2.5 litres. In 1969, a coupé version was introduced, and in 1973, the W114 underwent a facelift. One of the innovations that Mercedes-Benz presented for the first time in this model was electric fuel injection. In Germany, the model was nicknamed \"Strich Acht\" – referring to its year of introduction, while in Poland, Mercedes fans call it \"przejściówka\" (adapter) or \"puchacz\" (eagle owl). A W114 owned by Greek taxi driver Gregorios Sachinidis, with 4.6 million kilometres on the odometer, is recognized by the manufacturer as the car with the highest mileage achieved by any Mercedes-Benz vehicle.
