UAZ 452 Buchanka

The UAZ 452, a multi-purpose vehicle affectionately nicknamed "Buchanka" (Russian for "loaf of bread"), is a resilient automotive old-timer, indeed resembling a freshly baked loaf. Originally designed for military use, this almost 60-year-old "loaf" belongs to the group of the longest-produced cars in the world, and with almost no modifications. Over time, in addition to its military applications, the UAZ 452 began to be seen in everyday use – as a delivery vehicle, and also as an ambulance. In this latter role, the Buchanka serves to this day – during the pandemic, it was one of Kazakhstan's heroes, conquering the local market in new car sales, with a share of almost 11%.
