Although it was designed as a delivery van, it quickly saw passenger versions or those combining features of a van and a minibus. One of the great assets of the T1 manufacturers was their effort to adapt the production of new models to customer needs.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe T1 achieved immense popularity worldwide, which it earned with its rarely seen universal character. Depending on the version, it accommodated 2 to 9 people, and its speed reached 75 km\/h. The Transporter was also a favorite vehicle in hippie circles, and as such, throughout the 1960s, it accompanied groups of laughing flower children on journeys to warmer climates. Production of the T1 ended in 1967, but it was not its definitive end.
