PZL.23 Karaś

The PZL.23B Karaś is an example of Polish engineering from the 1930s, combining innovative technical solutions with practical application in reconnaissance and bombing missions. Designed by Państwowe Zakłady Lotnicze (State Aviation Works), it stood out with its monoplane wing configuration and light, metal construction, which allowed for efficient maneuvering in changing operational conditions.

This aircraft played a significant role in the service of Polish aviation during the September Campaign, bearing witness to the tumultuous events of that period. Interestingly, the designers focused on solutions that facilitated servicing and adapting the aircraft to various tasks, which was of considerable importance in the dynamically changing military situation.

The PZL.23B Karaś is not just an element of history, but also a symbol of resilience and the spirit of innovation that contributed to the development of Polish aviation. Legend has it that when the Karaś took off, the clouds themselves parted – as if they knew that a spectacle full of courage and determination was about to unfold.
