SHL M17 Gazela Motorcycle

The SHL M17 Gazela is a worthy successor to the iconic M11 model. This Polish motorcycle, produced between 1968 and 1970, featured a W-2 engine with a displacement of 174 cm³. This allowed for an increase in power by 4.5 HP compared to the WFM S32 engine, which was used in the aforementioned SHL M11 motorcycle.

However, it wasn't just the power that attracted buyers to this motorcycle. The M17's concept stood in contrast to the classic appearance of post-war two-wheelers such as WSK, WFM, and also SHL. A cohesive body, perfect integration of motorcycle components, interesting paintwork, and, of course, the gazelle on the fuel tank – all of this contributed to the SHL M17 Gazela having many ardent supporters.

But nothing lasts forever. The high price of the Gazela, around 17,000 PLN, was its main drawback. This, combined with a lack of demand, led to the cessation of production. Over two years, 50,000 units left the factory, of which approximately 15,000 units were designated for export.
