Star 266
This legendary truck was created, as it were, at the request of the Polish Army, which was looking for a successor to the Star 66 - 660 family. Work began in 1969, and the first production Star 266 rolled off the line in 1973, beginning a very successful career for this vehicle in military and civilian service, serving as a chassis for countless specialized bodies. The drive on all 3 axles, solid construction, a powerful 6842 cm³ engine, and excellent off-road capabilities resulted in over 4,500 units being exported. In 1988, two Star 266 trucks participated in the legendary Paris-Dakar Rally, where both crews reached the finish line.
To this day, over 10,000 of these vehicles still serve in the Polish Army, and the secondary market brings joy to enthusiasts of truly extreme off-roading. The graphic depicts a Star 266 with the most popular box body.
