Star 266

This legendary truck was created, as it were, at the request of the Polish Army, which was looking for a successor to the Star 66 – 660 family. Work began in 1969, and the first production Star 266 rolled off the line in 1973, marking the beginning of this vehicle's highly successful career in military and civilian service, acting as a chassis for countless specialist bodies. All-wheel drive, a solid construction, a powerful 6842 cm3 engine, and excellent off-road capabilities led to over 4,500 units being exported. In 1988, two Star 266s participated in the legendary Paris-Dakar Rally, where both crews reached the finish line.

Today, over 10,000 of these vehicles still serve in the Polish Army, and the secondary market brings joy to enthusiasts of truly extreme off-roading. The graphic depicts a Star 266 in its most popular box body configuration.
