"Kibel," "ortopeda," or perhaps "tyku-tyku"? The multifaceted EN57 train has permanently etched itself into the annals of Polish railways. It is recognized not only by avid railway enthusiasts but also by ordinary citizens who have been riding "kibel" since childhood. This term was given to it due to the distinctive smell inside the vehicle, and the extremely "comfortable" plastic seats, available on the longest routes, contributed to its nickname "ortopeda" (orthopedist). Memories associated with the EN57 train ensure that there is no shortage of terms for it in railway jargon.

Polish railways have something to boast about – the EN57 was dubbed the longest-produced rail vehicle in the world. Between 1962 and 1993, over 1429 units of this model were produced at the Pafawag plants in Wrocław, and modernizations of individual units continue to this day.
