UAZ 452 Buchanka

The UAZ 452, a multi-purpose vehicle affectionately known as "Buchanka," meaning "loaf" in Russian, is a remarkably well-preserved automotive old-timer, indeed resembling a freshly baked loaf of bread just out of the oven. Originally designed for military use, this almost 60-year-old "loaf" is one of the longest-produced cars in the world, and with almost no modifications. Over time, in addition to its military applications, the UAZ 452 began to be seen in everyday use – as a delivery van, but also as an ambulance. In this latter role, the Buchanka serves to this day – during the pandemic, it was one of Kazakhstan's heroes, conquering the local market in new car sales with a share of almost 11%.

The drawing was created by Wrocław artist Paweł Grabowski.
