Willys
The Willys MB is a distinguished veteran of World War II. It was the first 4x4 model to roll off the assembly line, with over 1 million units produced. This outnumbered all German military Volkswagens, contributing significantly to Allied victories. The heroic jeep was so instrumental that President Dwight Eisenhower called it "one of the three decisive weapons the U.S. had in World War II."
Our iconic jeep, sometimes referred to as the G503, initiated the process of introducing similar types of vehicles (4x4 SUVs) into civilian life, leading many conscientious parents today to drive their children to school in sizable four-wheel-drive machines. The Willys MB was also known as the "sardine can on wheels," which only emphasizes its iconic character, making it perhaps even more recognizable than the Volkswagen Beetle.
