EN57 Regio Train

A "kibel" (toilet), an "orthopaedist", or perhaps a "tyku-tyku"? The multifaceted EN57 train has become permanently etched in the annals of Polish railways. It is familiar not only to avid railway enthusiasts but also to ordinary citizens who have been riding the "kibel" since childhood. It earned this moniker due to the distinctive smell inside the vehicle, and the extremely "comfortable" plastic seats, of course, available on the longest routes, contributed to its "orthopaedist" nickname. Memories associated with the EN57 train mean that railway jargon has plenty of room for its many descriptions.

Polish railways have something to boast about – the EN57 was named the longest-produced rail vehicle in the world. Between 1962 and 1993, over 1429 units of this model were produced at the Pafawag factories in Wrocław, and modernizations of individual units continue to this day.
