EN57 Regio train

Kibel, orthopedist, or perhaps tyku-tyku? The multi-faceted EN57 train has permanently etched itself into the annals of Polish railways. It is recognized not only by avid railway enthusiasts but also by ordinary citizens who have been riding the "kibel" since childhood. It received this nickname due to the characteristic smell inside the vehicle, and the extremely "comfortable" plastic seats, of course available on the longest routes, contributed to its moniker "orthopedist." Memories associated with the EN57 train ensure that railway jargon has plenty of room for its many descriptions.

Polish railways have something to boast about — the EN57 has been dubbed the longest-produced rail vehicle in the world. Between 1962 and 1993, over 1429 units of this model were produced at the Pafawag plants in Wrocław, and modernizations of individual units continue to this day.
