Willys

The Willys MB is a distinguished veteran of World War II. It was the first 4x4 model to roll off the assembly line, with over 1 million units produced. This outnumbered all German military Volkswagens, largely contributing to the Allies' victorious campaigns. The heroic Jeep earned such distinction that President Dwight Eisenhower called it "one of the three decisive weapons the U.S. had in World War II."

Our iconic Jeep, sometimes called the G503, initiated the process of introducing similar types of cars (4x4 SUVs) into civilian life, which is why many conscientious parents today drive their children to school in large, four-wheel-drive machines. The Willys MB was also known as a "sardine can on wheels," which only emphasizes its iconic character, making it perhaps even more recognizable than the Volkswagen Beetle.
