UAZ 452 Buchanka

The UAZ 452, a multi-purpose vehicle with the endearing nickname "Buchanka," which means "loaf" in Russian, is a resilient automotive old-timer, indeed resembling a fresh-baked loaf of bread straight from the oven. Designed for the military, this almost 60-year-old "loaf" is one of the longest-produced cars in the world, with virtually no modifications. Over time, in addition to its military applications, the UAZ 452 began to be seen in everyday use – as a delivery van, but also as an ambulance. In this latter role, the Buchanka serves to this day – during the pandemic, it was one of Kazakhstan's heroes, conquering the local market in new car sales, with a share of almost 11%.
