7TP

(abbreviation of seven-tonne, Polish)

Most enthusiasts of armored vehicles and Polish engineering know the history of this light tank, which originated from the licensed Vickers E design purchased in 1931. Work on the 7TP lasted from 1934 to 1935, during which time the flaws of its predecessor were eliminated, leading to the innovative use of a diesel engine (the second mass-produced design of its kind in the world) and a large, two-man turret armed with a modern 37 mm wz. 36 anti-tank gun, while also reinforcing the armor. By the outbreak of war in 1939, approximately 130 units had been produced, and despite their small numbers, they did not play a significant role, even though they surpassed most enemy combat vehicles in terms of armor and armament, often allowing them to win skirmishes in their favor. It holds a special place in the hearts of history enthusiasts.
